For Parents - Testing Options |
Testing Options |
Testing breaks into two categories: testing on materials you're teaching, and national achievement testing/intelligence testing. If you're using a published curriculum, check with the publisher, who likely provides tests you can use. (A Beka, BJU, ACE curricula all have tests available.) In addition, some publishers also make it possible for achievement testing to take place (check with your publisher). Another way to have your students tested (achievement testing) is to approach a local, private school. That's how I've had all four of my children tested over the years--included my children on test day. Expect to pay the school for materials at least. An additional fee is fair! Family Learning Organization offers standardized achievement testing to homeschoolers. They offer the California Achievement Test and the Metropolitan Achievement Test. Thurber's Educational Assessments offers the California Achievement Test on a scheduled basis. Piedmont Educational Services offers not only testing, but is a textbook resale depot as well. |
